2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ Official Awards

Luka Modric (CRO) was confirmed as the best player at the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ after the official awards were announced. The Croatian midfielder won the adidas Golden Ball which is awarded to the best player by the FIFA Technical Study Group (TSG). Eden Hazard (BEL) and Antoine Griezmann (FRA) came second and third respectively.

The adidas Golden Boot was won by Harry Kane (ENG), with 6 goals. Antoine Griezmann (FRA) collected the Silver Boot and Romelu Lukaku (BEL) the Bronze.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois (BEL) collected the adidas Golden Glove while Spain took the FIFA Fair Play Trophy. The FIFA Young Player Award goes to Kylian Mbappe (FRA).

Dr Ubah Donates A Million Balls to African Children in Moscow

Chairman of Anambra Football Association and also President FC Ifeanyiubah Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah yesterday hosted all the African Football Federation Presidents in official presentation of the Africa Football Revolution Initiative (AFRI) Project “1 Family – 1 Footballer”in Moscow.

Speaking to the SportsDay in his hotel in Moscow, Ubah revealed that his idea on the ongoing project to set a ground which will enable the African team raise quality players that will play good football in the future.

“This project is very big one and I am doing this because of the passion I have for football. This is a reality because I want a situation whereby African teams will be able to produce players that can play like Messi and Ronaldo even Nemar in the future,”

“We decided to start it now atleast in the next 2-10 years Africans football and players will be doing us proud. We are doing a presentation to other African Countries which there FA Chairmen are around here in Russia which after, we will lunch it officially on the August 4th in Nnewi before taking the second step to far away Cairo, Egypt” He said.

“This project will accommodate every child in Nigeria not just Anambra alone and off course we are looking at the age bracket 9-17 years.

“We are committed to the donation of 1 Million Footballs to the African Children and every child selected from other African Countries will be raised or trained through my football academy will also be lunched officially very soon” Dr Ubah added.
