2018 Ogun State FA Cup: Remo Stars FC Outclass Lion Heart FC

It was a hard earned victory for Nigeria National League(NNL) Side, Remo Stars Football Club against Lion Heart Football Club at the ongoing 2018 Ogun State Football Association Cup .

Two goals each from Solomon John and Lanignan Gbenga ensured that Remo Stars Football Club (RSFC) secured a place in the quarter finals of the 2018 Ogun State FA Cup with a 6-3 defeat of hard –fighting Lion Heart FC in a match played at the Otunba Dipo Dina International Stadium in Ijebu Ode .

The win served as a dress rehearsal for the Sky Blue Stars who are preparing to take on Delta Force in their first Nigeria National League home match on Sunday at the Gateway Stadium, Sagamu.

The Fatai Osho tutored side opened scoring in the early minutes of the tough encounter through Ogwuche Mathias who a collected a pass and looped over opponents goal keeper , Samuel Greeceman after disorganizing the Lion Heart FC defense wall .

Solomon John doubled the lead for the Sky Blue Stars, Sunday Williams assisted Solomon John to grab a brace and the third of the game before, Lions Heart reduced the tally through Charles Collins goal while Lanignan Gbenga got his first goal for the Remo boys three minute into the remaining half .

Lanignan Gbenga was on again on target for a brace with assist coming from Sunday Williams’ while Okumoye Timothy further reduced the deficit, capitalizing on Remo boys defensive error.

Remo Stars’ Oshobe Shuji then got the sixth for his side, to put the match beyond Lion Heart and secured the much needed victory for the Sky Blue Stars now sees them qualify for the quarter finals and help them head into a crucial encounter against Delta Force at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu.

The side feeders(Remo Stars Junior) also created a big upset, sending out highly rated Gateway United of Abeokuta 4-2 on penalties to move into the next round of the competition ,therefore repeating the last year feat of defeating Gateway in the quarter final .

Goals from Oginribi Seun and Nduka Junior led to the game ending 1-1 after normal time, Omoyayi Salami and Adewunmi Yusuf missed from 12yards in the resulting shootout to give the Sky Blue Stars Feeders a win they probably deserved.
