A hint has emerged that players, coaches and officials in Nigeria’s physically challenged soccer team, Special Eagles will receive heroes’ welcome when they return home from the World Cup in Mexico.
This much was disclosed by the president of Nigeria Amputee Football Federation (NAFF), Suleiman Isah, who promised that the body will do something special for the team.
Although Isah did not elaborate on what plans the NAFF have in store for the Amputee Eagles, he said they will get something big on their return from their trip.
Isah reiterated: “We are happy for their efforts in making Nigeria proud in Mexico. Although they lost three matches, they made history by winning one of their games and that makes us proud.
“That is why we give them a special treatment when they return home. I can also tell you that they will get some stipends to return to their various bases.
“After that, we plan to organise a dinner for them, where they will be celebrated and duly honoured.”
