Chairman of Enyimba football Club of Aba Felix Anyansi Agwu has assured the club’s fans that the team will lift the league trophy by the end of season, following their recent rise on the table.
In a chat with SportsDay after their home victory on Sunday, Agwu confirmed that with the way the team is playing so far in the league, nothing will stop them from getting to the top.
He also revealed that materials for the renovation of their Aba Elephant pitch have arrived as the ongoing work would soon be finalised by the contractors.
Anyansi said: “First, I am happy with the current form of my players. I am very optimistic we will pick one of the CAF ticket by end of the season if not the league title itself.
“We hope to return to Aba with the trophy which is very important to us since work has commenced at our home stadium, hopefully it would be good for us to return to Aba with the title so that our people will then welcome us with joy.
“I commend the State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, for his commitment, It is not easy. The reconstruction came at a very difficult moment when the contract was awarded, the dollar was at a particular level, subsequently, it has shot up, but he is still committed to it.
“I believe in my technical crew and I am happy with the way the y work. We have given Ogunbote more lay way than any other coach who has worked here in my time as Chairman, because we believe in his abilities.”
