Edo State flag-bearers in the Nigeria National League, Bendel Insurance Football Club will cough out the sum of two million naira(N2,000.000,00)for assaulting match officials in their match day 31 home tie against UNICEM Rovers of Calabar,and will play their next three homes games in the 2017 Bet9ja Nigeria National League in strict closed doors.
This is the summary jurisdiction ruling by NNL Management in keeping with certified rules governing the 2017 League season.
Consequently, three officials of Insurance have been handed various degrees of suspension and are to stay away from all NNL organized activities.
1.Mr.Ben Ogbemudia team’s media Officer has been place on indefinite suspension for his unholy roles in the match,Mr.Ogbemudia stoned the center referee and went on to slap the second Assistant referee.
- Insurance Player,Mr.Ukanaku Anyin has been banned for a year for attacking the center referee,Mr. Anyin who spotted jersey number 30 on the day,slapped the center referee when he was issued a red card.
- Bendel Insurance Club secretary,Mr.Ihimekpen Charles, popularly known as ‘Chico’ has been placed on a six(6) match ban ,starting from Insurance next game, for inciting fans to attack match officials.
NNL equally mandated Messrs ,Ihimekpen,Ogbemudia and Anyin to appear before its Compliance Arm on Tuesday 12th of October,2017 to answer why they should not be further punished for their vile conducts.
