Chamberlain Squash Open 2018: Nigerian Players Crash out in First Round

All the Nigerian players participating at the ongoing 2nd edition of Chamberlain Squash Open crashed out of the competition on Wednesday.

The players could not make to it to the quarter-finals stage in the male and female categories.

Nigeria number, Babatunde Ajagbe went down 11-6, 12-11, 11-4 to Egyptian, Mohammed Reda in 36minutes, while female number one, Yemisi Olatunji lost gallantly to Menna Hamed of Egypt 11-9, 11-5, 11-8 in 30minutes.

U.S based Nigeria player, Adewale Amao lost to Lagos International Classic Champion, Karim El Hammamy of Egypt in three sets 11-2, 11-8, 15-13 in 55minutes.

Meanwhile, in other matches played, tournament top seed Zahed Mohammed from Egypt ousted Czech Republic’s Daniel Mekbib three sets to one, 11-7, 11-3, 5-11, 11-6.

Female top seed, Briton, Millie Tomlinson beat Nigeria, Rofiat AbdulAzeez in three sets 11-5, 11-2, 11-6.
