Nigeria’s home based Super Eagles were expected to have arrived Rabat, the Moroccan capital, Thursday, as they gear up for hostilities ahead of the African Nations Tournament in the North African country.
On Wednesday the team had a test match against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, which ended goalless amidst reports that the game was rough and very physical.
However, there were positives to take away from the game as the team officials say there were no injury worries and the team will be hundred per cent ready for the game against Rwanda, its first in the tournament. Team Captain, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, was also positive about a good outing for the team, even as goalscoring seems to be part of the problem of the team.
On his part, team Head Coach Salisu Yusuf, said he has a squad that he feels can do Nigeria proud at the championship and was ready to take every responsibility for the team’s positive or negative outing. “We are ready and tell Nigerians we will disappoint them”, he declared on a radio programme.
