One of the key players of Nigeria’s bronze medal effort at the African Nations championships, in South Africa, tagged CHAN, Ikenna Hillary, has declared himself the best midfield player for the national team as they prepare for the CHAN Nations Championships even as he claimed injuries has not been his friend.
Hillary, who plays for millionaire side, Ifeanyiuba FC in the Nigerian top flight said, he has been hampered by injuries in the last few months but has recently returned to the best of his game and hopes he will be given a look in by the national team coaching crew.
“I have not played for sometimes, due to injuries but those who watched at the last CHAN tournament where we won the bronze medal, will agree that I have something to add to this team and I am sure that Coach Salisu Yusuf and the entire crew will call me up and add me to make the team stronger as we prepare for the game against Benin Republic.
He commended the management of IfeanyiFC for taking care of him, even while he was injured and assured that he will richly reward the club, anytime he is called upon to feature for the team. “I remain one of the mainstay here and I want to play anytime I am called upon, mistakes may have been made in the past but I want to correct everything to be a great player”.
