Austria Wien striker Olanrewaju Kayode has said he is delighted to be handed a late call-up by Nigeria for friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso later this month in London.
Kayode, who has been in prolific form for his modest Austrian side, will replace injured Victor Osimhen, who is yet to play a competitive game for Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga.
“I am very happy that finally the handlers of the Super Eagles have counted me worthy for invitation. I want to thank all those who believed in me and I will do everything possible to give this opportunity my very best” he said.
Kayode is expected to process his UK Visa from Austria in time to join the team when they converge in London ahead of the first match against Senegal on March 23.
