TWITTER users reacted with hilarious memes mocking Amir Khan’s vow “get back on top with big fights” after his very public split from wife Faryal Makhdoom.
The Bolton-born star has not stepped in the ring since being knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in May last year – but he’s certainly been active on social media recently.
The couple had a very public break up on Twitter which saw them both make claims of infidelity
The former world champion and Olympic silver medallist has not fought for more than a year since being knocked out by Canelo Alvarez
Heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua has denied claims he slept with Khan’s wife and posted a video of the Shaggy song ‘it wasn’t me’
Khan, 30, who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics, announced the split on Twitter with his 26-year-old wife on Friday before accusing her of having a fling with Anthony Joshua – which the Brit heavyweight champ denied.
Faryal furiously hit back branding Khan a “cheater” and bad role model, before she deleted the majority of her posts expect the ones referring to his infidelity.
In his latest Twitter post, Khan has now vowed to “get back on top with big fights” and rejuvenate his career which has included 31 wins from 35 fights and a three-year reign as the WBA light-welterweight world champ.
Despite Khan’s incredible hand-speed and boxing pedigree, many users on Twitter mocked his pledge for “big fights”.
They posted memes showing clips from films and television which captured people laughing or reacting in horror or surprise – including Joshua himself and rapper Ice Cube in the cult-classic film Friday.
One simply replied with a picture of Joshua looking absolutely ripped at the weigh-in before one of his fights suggesting the love rivals should meet in the ring – here’s a selection of the memes:

Khan now says he is off to San Francisco in mid August to start training with his US coach Virgil Hunter.
Despite being knocked out, Khan was widely praised for his bravery after stepping up in weight to fight the Mexican Alvarez, who is considered one of the world’s best pound-for-pound boxers.
Since then Khan has faced frustration trying to secure a dust-up with Manny Pacquiao, while a fight with bitter domestic rival Kell Brook – who was thrown off an easyjet flight for causing havoc when drunk – also appears a long way-off.
Meanwhile a lingerie model who romped with Amir Khan behind his pregnant wife’s back last night insisted: “I warned her he’s a dirty love rat.”
