First Bank and Dolphins Basketball Clubs of Lagos started the 4th stage of the Zenith Women Basketball League on a bright note in Ibadan on Saturday.
The defending champion, First Bank were in devastating form as they whipped old rivals, First Deepwater 102-62 while Dolphins also defeated AHIP Queens 98-81.
Both sides were yet to lose a match in the series and they were tipped as favourites to meet in the final at the end of the Grand Finale in Lagos later in the month.
In other matches, IGP Queens defeated Plateau Rocks 54-44, Sunshine Angels pipped Delta Force by just two points in a 67-65 victory, Customs defeated GT 2000 60-53 while Benue Princess managed to get the better of FCT Angels 56-54.
Sunday was observed as a rest day with hostilities expected to start again on Monday (today) with another round of seven games at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
It was learnt that due to the complaints from the players and officials, the competition may be moved to the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan from Monday (today).
Day 2 fixtures have Benue Princess clash with Plateau Rocks, Sunshine Angels take on GT 2000, First Bank will be up against FCT Angel, Dolphins will also clash with Delta Force, IGP Queens will take on First Deepwater while Customs and Ahip Queens will tango for honours in the last match of the day.
