A higher level of expectation has shot up for Leicester City summer signing, Kelechi Iheanacho, with pundits now tipping him more than ever to get a debut with The Foxes in Friday’s EPL season opener against Arsenal.
It promises to be an explosive game between the former EPL champions and current FA Cup kings of England, which would make an outing for Iheanacho in the encounter at Emirates Stadium but personally gratifying and great for the club.
As the countdown gets tighter to kick-off, good news rolling out of King Power Stadium indicates that the former Manchester City youngster is poised to make his competitive debut for Leicester.
This is despite initial question marks over Iheanacho’s availability for the game at Emirates Stadium, after he was substituted 17 minutes into his unofficial debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach the previous Friday.
However, while providing update on the fitness of the Super Eagles lad, Leicester manager, Craig Shakespeare said there are positive signs about the lad’s fitness.
”On a positive note, Kelechi trained fully after his little knock against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He’s over his toe injury and he’s fully fit.”
