The expected transfer of Gambo Mohammed from Kano Pillars to Plateau United of Jos is not yet a done deal, as the former league champions have placed a mammoth N15m price on his head.
So soon after Gambo dropped talk of a move to Rivers United of Port Harcourt, in apparent agreement with officials at Pillars, the Kano club appear set to scupper his latest effort at hooking a transfer by placing a hefty price on his head.
This comes amidst reports that The City of Groundnut Pyramids club have told Plateau United to pay N15m if they wish to have the services of their captain of the past two years to join them ahead of next season.
Gambois hugely experienced in African club competitions, having featured forSaiMasuGida side in their four attempts on the continent’s elite showpiece, CAF Champions League.
With Plateau United set to take a shot at the championship, the Jos side found quality and potential in the forward, who has held talks with the hierarchy of the 2017 NPFL champions.
An official of the Jos-based club disclosed: “We’ve held talks with Gambo Mohammed and he has agreed personal terms with the management.
“Right now we are discussing with the management of Kano Pillars for his clearance. But Pillars are demanding for N15m as transfer fee.
“But the technical director of Plateau United is handling that and we are hopeful of getting his clearance because Gambo has continental experience and will be a good addition to our team.”
