Godwin Nosike is setting his sights on steering Enugu Rangers to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League this season.
The Flying Antelopes are eyeing a spot in next year’s CAF competition at the end of their ongoing topflight campaign and has appointed Nozike as an assistant coach.
Until his appointment, the former Enugu Rangers midfielder previously had coaching stint with Warri Wolves under Paul Aigbogun during their Caf Champions League outing in 2016.
Following his introduction to the team at Wednesday’s training session, the gaffer expressed joy and is eager to justify his engagement as an assistant to coach Gbenga Ogunbote.
“It gives me great joy to be called upon to give what I have to the team I love with all my heart,” Nosike told media.
“I sincerely believe that with a united sense of purpose, we can take Rangers to where it rightly belongs which is the top.”
The seven-time champions are 10th on the log with 30 points – 13 adrift of leaders Lobi Stars after 23 games and will welcome struggling Heartland to Enugu on Sunday.
