Former Brazilian legend and national team defender Marcos Evangelista de Morais known as Cafu has expressed dis-satisfaction with the Brazilian national team poor performance in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Cafu was among the 9 legend players that were invited by FIFA for novelty matched at football park, Red Square, in Moscow on Wednesday afternoon.
In a brief chat with SportsDay, after the game, Cafu stated that he is not happy with his country national as they could not maintain the country’s world Cup history and tradition.
“I am not happy, I am disappointed with my country because I never believed they will be going home that early. I so much have fate that they will reach to the semi finals but it never happened,” he said.
“What I saw in the ongoing World Cup matches so far proved that football is fast developing in the World. The time of one country winning the tournament two or three times has gone.
“Every country has improved and developed in terms of soccer and national tournaments. FIFA has given the game alot class. No country should be underrated. If Brazil and Argentina could go home early, it means no team is small in world of soccer again.
He appreciate FIFA for extending the hand fellowship by inviting him to be part of the legend to honour the 6 aside novelty match.
