Jolaosho, Obadina Rule Abeokuta Tourney

-Emerge Tops At 4th Nigerian Breweries Event
It was a big win for Niyi Jolaosho of Ewekoro Golf Club, who emerged men’s champion with 75 gross, and Hannah Obadina from Sagamu Golf Club who clinched the ladies’ best prize with 92 gross at the 4th Nigerian Breweries Golf Championship hosted by Abeokuta Golf Club.

The tournament attracted 138 golfers from other top clubs in Nigeria , including Ibadan Golf Club, Tigers Golf Club, Ikeja Golf Club, Dolphin Golf Club, Apapa, Lagos, Ikoyi Golf Club, Hassabari Golf Club Saki, Ekiti Golf Club.

Host club member, Ayo Fagbemi clinched the men’s net category with 70 net while team mates , Moruff Adegesin was runners-up with 73 net alongside Dayo Folarin also with the same points while Abiodun Hassan was the best for ladies with 72 net at the competition which also saw Bamikole Peter from Ekiti Golf Cub winning men’s guest category with 68 net with closely followed by his team-mate Olaniyi Akinwale with 69 net while Itunu Olujimi won the ladies guest category with 69 net alongside second placed, Abiola Lawal with same points.

Other prize winners included Esther Eze (Sagamu Golf Club) who emerged as runners-up in the Ladies net category with 75 net while Engr.Tokunbo Odebunmi (Abeokuta Golf Club) won the veteran category with 76 net while Venerable Adekunle Kunmi was runner-up with 77 net.

Olajide Owolabi (Abeokuta Golf Club) and Segun Eleyowo won consolatory prizes as the longest drive and nearest to the pin as well as Hannah Obadina and Abiodun Hassan who went home with consolatory prizes as longest drive and nearest to the pin respectively.

Abeokuta Golf Club’s captain, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka and board of trustees chairman, Justice Demola Bakre (OON) retired lauded the corporate support of Nigerian Breweries PLC for continuous support to the tournament which has ranked the club among the top clubs in the country with one of the best courses .

Soyinka who presented the club’s development plan aim at further development of the game to the board chairman , disclosing that the club will soon unfold plan to organize youth tournament with the support of Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF) to expose young golfers at its academy.
