As the soccer world braces for another London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal in the English Premier League, memory has been set agog with how ex-Super Eagles captain, Nwankwo Kanu once dealt a wicked blow at The Blues with a glorious hat-trick.
The recall for Kanu comes in the official website of Arsenal, which asked The Gunners’ fans, ahead of Saturday afternoon’s clash at Stamford Bridge, to pick their best goal scored by an Arsenal player at Chelsea.
Kanu, who joined Arsenal in February 1999 after stops at Ajax Amsterdam of Holland and Inter Milan of Italy, is among the five players nominated alongside Silvinho, Winterburn, Vieira and Andre Santos.
The two-time African Footballer of the Year netted a memorable hat-trick against The Blues, with his solo effort the most eye catching of the three goals.
As at the time of writing, Kanu was topping the poll with 83 percent of the votes cast, ahead of Winterburn (5 % ) and Vieira (5 % ).
