The NPFL leading scorer has praised the Sai Masu Gida fans for inspiring his seventh goal of the season in their home win against the Olukoya Boys
Kano Pillars’ striker, Junior Lokosa has dedicated his seventh league goal of the season to the team’s fans after another brilliant performance in their 2-0 home win over MFM on Sunday.
Sai Masu Gida endured a torrid time at the Sani Abacha Stadium against as Olukoya Boys kept them at bay for the most part of the match before the goals poured in.
After the game, the forward reckoned that the support from fans was overwhelming as fans chanted his name to take the penalty kick.
“This goal is for our fans. They were very supportive throughout the match,” Lokosa told Goal.
“They amazed me with the way the shouted my name as soon as we got the penalty kick. They were making so much noise insisting that I should take the penalty kick. It was very overwhelming and I thank God that we didn’t disappoint them.
“MFM came with a strategy to frustrate us and I thank God that we were able to nullify them at the end of the match. The first half was very difficult for us. We tried everything we could but they were unyielding.
“It was a good win and I expect us to start preparation for our next game in Akure immediately. They were beaten by Plateau United but they will like to come all out in the next game to prove their doubters wrong.”
