Montage Basketball Clinic Ignites Lagos

-As Back-To-School Programme Begins
Second Montage Back to School Clinic and tournament will start Wednesday at the parking lot of the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.

The programme which is for ages four to twelve is aimed at discovering and developing young basketball players in and around Lagos.

Speaking at a crowded media briefing Tuesday, a former professional basketball star who is coordinating the Montage Back to School programme, Joel Adams confirmed that about one thousand, two hundred (1,200) kids drawn from sixty three (63) public schools in Surulere, Lagos will feature in Wednesday’s Clinic for basics of the game of basketball.

The one time star of Lagos Islanders and Dodan Warriors Basketball Club of Lagos said they are focusing on public schools as a lot of talents abound there.

“We have a lot of talents in this country that if not discovered and given the basic skills of becoming better people will waste away.

“Our aim is to catch them young and make them future stars.

“It has been my vision to discover young basketball players and with a big support from Montage Cable TV Network, some quality players that would eventually play for Nigeria and also play top class basketball around top world clubs be discovered by the grace of God,” said Adams who revealed that veteran basketball coach, Alex Owochio would be Montage Back to School Clinic camp director.

Representative of Montage cable TV, Mrs. Layo Bamigbade said her company would continue to give support to basketball development in the Country while also applauding the commitment of Adams.
