Moroccan Soccer Fans Clash with Brussels Police After World Cup Qualifier

Street celebrations in Brussels by Moroccan soccer fans marking their teams return to the World Cup for the first time in two decades turned violent on Saturday night, November 11.

According to Belgian reports, 22 police officers were injured when between 200 and 300 fans began attacking them and setting cars and bins on fire outside the stock exchange in the city centre. Footage shows riot police dousing protesters with water cannons.

Morocco won 2-0 against Ivory Coast, securing their place in World Cup in Russia next year.
