Nigeria hope to pinch England Under-21 hotshot Tammy Abraham and persuade him to declare for the Super Eagles.
Chelsea youngster Abraham is on loan at Swansea this season after enjoying a breakthrough campaign at Bristol City last term.
The 19-year-old scored 26 times for the Robins, earning a spot in the England Under-21 squad for the European Championships.
Abraham again played – and scored – for Aidy Boothroyd’s side during the recent international break, but remains eligible for Nigeria through his father.

Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick grew up with Abraham’s father and they remain friends.
And Pinnick remains hopeful of persuading Abraham to switch his allegiance.
“We are working on getting Abraham,” said Pinnick. “Tammy is like my son. His father and I grew up in the same neighbourhood.
“So when they talk about him, I just laugh because I know what to do.”

Nigeria boast the likes of Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, and Abraham’s Chelsea pal Ola Aina among their ranks — all of whom played for England at youth level.
They are currently top of their World Cup qualifying group with two games remaining. Victory over Zambia in October will guarantee their place in Russia next summer.
