Golden Eaglets captain at last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile, Kelechi Nwakali has stated that his transfer to English Premier League bag Arsenal is now in the bag.
Nwakali made the declaration on Sunday at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Eziobodo, during a thanksgiving service.
This comes after the Chile 2015 most valuable player travelled to London in January to undergo trials with Arsenal and it appears he was successful at the end of the exercise.
A close associate of the player equally declared that a deal has been sealed for Nwakali, who had earlier been linked with possible moves to Greece, Portugal and Italy.
The associate said Nwakali signed a five-year deal, which will be activated when he clocks 18 in the summer.
He added: “Kelechi has signed a five-year deal with Arsenal. I won’t be able to mention the exact transfer fee but it is above two million pounds.”
