Obaje’s Goal Sinks Enyimba

Written By: SD Reporter

Godwin Obaje got the only goal as FC Ifeanyi Ubah secured a crucial lone goal victory in the Oriental Derby clash against Enyinba FC on Sunday in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Obaje netted the solitary goal in the feisty derby clash in the 50th minute after the first half of the game played in Nnewi failed to register any goals

Incidentally, Enyimba lost by the same odd margin when they came calling in Nnewi last season and they were unlucky yet again on Sunday.

In other matchday 29 games on Sunday, Nasarawa United got the only away win by shocking Sunshine Stars 1-0 in Ijebu-Ode, Remo Stars’ relegation troubles deepened following their 3-2 loss away to Lobi and ABS were held to a 0-0 draw by Rivers United.

Last season’s champions Enugu Rangers’ woes this season continued as they were defeated 2-0 by Kano Pillars in Kano.

Two first half goals from Jamiu Alimi and Junior Lokosa in the 32nd and 43rd minutes respectively gave Pillars the win.
In Ibadan, Shooting Stars gave their push for survival a big boost by beating Katsina United 1-0, as Wasiu Jimoh got 3SC’s goal in the 44th minute.
