Hapoel Be’er Sheva of Israel midfielder, John Ugochukwu Ogu has declared himself good enough to play for any top team in Europe and wants to show his mettle in this season’s UEFA Europa League.
Though his side could not make it into the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, the former Académica de Coimbra of Portugal star believes Be’er Sheva are good enough to shake Europe and wants to use the matches to showcase himself.
Ogu said he is willing to take up the challenge of competing in main stream Europe, and wants to make a huge impact against Lugano of Switzerland on Thursday.
Ogu declared: “I keep saying this to people. I am not afraid of challenges. I am not afraid to move to the best league in the world to play football to show case my talent.
“I had offers to leave Israel, but they didn’t want to leave me and I don’t want to fight anybody so as to leave the club because they have showed me love from day one.
“The club also gave me the chance to be where I am today. I believe if I was not playing in the team I will not get the chance to be in the Super Eagles today.
“They gave me the chance to play in the Eagles today because I play week in, week out in my club I try to fight for the club. I know if my time comes, I will definitely leave.”
