Nigerian-born former Belgium fringe international, Marvin Ogunjimi has popped back into the spotlight, following confirmation of his summer move to MVV Maastricht of Holland.
The 29-year-old striker makes the move from Kazakh club Oqjetpes FK Kökşetaw, and will aim for a career swansong in his fading days with MVV, who had Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Eaglets-winning captain, Kelechi Nwakali on their cards last season.
Born in Mechelen, Ogunjimi was approached by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to feature for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2010 World Cup, but he soon became cap-tied to Belgium.
It is a second outing for Ogunjimi in the Dutch league, as he had previously played in the Netherlands for RKC Waalwijk, when he was loaned out by Racing Genk of Belgium in the 2007/8 season.
He also has stints with Real Mallorca, Standard Liege and Strømsgodset among his previous stops in his carer, which is unlikely to explode again in the team that also once had former Nigeria goalkeeper, Alloy Agu in their ranks several years ago.
