Okowa Says Asaba Will Be Ready For African Athletics

Ahead of hosting of the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championship, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa says the state capital, Asaba is ready to host sports stars, coaches and officials from all across the continent.

Okowa stated this after inspecting the 22,000 sitting capacity Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, which will be used for the championship.

Okowa, accompanied by top officials of the State’s Sports Commission, was shown round the facilities by former president of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief (Dr) Solomon Ogba JP, who is now chairman of the Local Organizing Committee for the championship.

During the tour, the governor also assured that the complex would be ready for the African championship, which is billed to take place in August.
