Our words of encouragement for the third month of 2017 are filled with memories of God’s love for us, and His promises that, once you believe in the efficacy of His ways and follow His words, you will be ranked among His chosen people. Not only are you and I confirmed among the chosen generation of God’s beloved ones, The Most High reminds us this month that those who seek His face, follow His commandments and look unto Him for divine sustenance are Peculiar People.
This affirmation first came in the days of the Israelites, when God spoke to Moses about His love for the nation and proclaimed that His beloved ones are separated in His heart as Peculiar People. The Lord’s attestations affirmed that the Israelites are a race who deserves special attention, glorious benefits, outstanding gains and astonishing blessings, due to their distinguished standing among other nations. Because you and I are believes in God’s presence and power, we are part of His Chosen Generation and must reap from the fountain of His endless blessings and glory.
Not only are we assured of special treatment as God’s ‘peculiar people,’ we are all given the comfort of knowing that he sees us as precious treasure in His eyes and will gladly protect us because we are so dear to Him. That is the message of Exodus 19 verses 1 – 5, which state: “In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai. For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
“And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel; Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:”
In effect, the proclamation you and I can clinch to in this third month of the year 2017 is that the numerous blessings that trailed the Israelites – protection, safety, provision, riches, shelter, favour, booties, spoils, victory, etc – will continue coming our way. As the word went out in the third month from God to Moses for the people, I decree that you will receive astounding blessings and all round manifestations of God’s glory in astonishing dimensions throughout March 2017 and beyond.
We are further encouraged that, because we are peculiar people, we shall receive special signs and wonders this month, with the benefit of mouth-gaping testimonies and captivating stories to follow; which would yield boundless praises and bountiful worship from our mouths in appreciation of what The Almighty has done.
We are reminded that the beginning of a turnaround from struggle to comfort and pleasure has begun this month, because we have obeyed the Lord’s commandments and paid our dues in utmost service at His feet. Now is the time for reward, as we move into the threshold of divine bliss and appreciation, which the words of 2 Chronicles 31 verses 7 – 10 buttress in glowing terms.
The verses reveal: “In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. And when Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the LORD, and his people Israel. Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: for the LORD hath blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.”
An article entitled The Use of Three in the Bible, as contained in The Third Day Motif, notes in part: “It should be noted at the outset that the biblical authors’ use of the number three is abundantly attested. For example, Noah had three sons (Gen 6:10) and Job had three daughters (Job 1:2; cf. 42:13);20 Solomon’s Palace of the Forest of Lebanon was designed with windows “placed high in sets of three facing each other.
“Daniel regularly prayed three times a day giving thanks to God (Dan 6:10, 13). Jesus answered Satan’s threefold temptation by citing three scriptural passages Matt 4:1-11). Paul experienced three shipwrecks (2 Cor 11:28) and prayed three times to the Lord for the removal of his “thorn in the flesh” (2 Cor 12:7-8).”
Part of the article’s references also prophecy days of celebration for you and I this month, as we are reminded that Israelite men were required to appear before God three times a year: “Three times a year all your men must appear before the LORD your God at the place he will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks and the Feast of Tabernacles” (Deut 16:16).
The underlined assurance for you and me, therefore, is that we are bound to celebrate piously, endlessly, expansively, positively, gleefully, heartedly, publicly and progressively in the third month of 2017. The celebration we will exhibit is one backed fully by divine grace, as The Hand Of God will lift us above all lack, want, stagnation, deprivation, recession, care, worry, concern, illness and yokes into an atmosphere where all lines fall into pleasant places. So shall it be this month for you and I in the name of Jesus.
