Rangers Fall Badly At Zamalek, Rivers United Shine

Nigeria’s abysmal showing in continental football seemed to have showed its ugly face in far away Egypt, as Nigerian league defending champions, Rangers International of Enugu, fell 4-1, against Zamalek of Egypt.

It was a different story for Rivers United, who also took what looked like a revenge Almareik of Sudan, whom they defeated 3-0 in the first let for the league stage of the qualifiers for the Champions League.

Rangers International and Rivers United are the only remaining clubsides for Nigeria this season after Nasarawa United and Ifeanyi Uba fc crashed out in the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederations Cup.

Rangers must now defeat Zamalek 3-0, without conceding a goal, while Rivers United seem to have a less daunting task as the must just hold on to outclass the Sudanese   in the second leg.
