Wasn’t it symbolic that this month started with our celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ? Yes, April 1, 2018 was a day of many epochal points that affirm that every single believer in the resurrection of Christ will always be first and not the last.
It was the first day of the week, first day of the new month and first day of the second quarter of the year. Above all, it was Easter Sunday, when we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the jaws of death. The attendant message for you and I is that we have rising with Christ and all pain is gone away forever, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. All agony is gone, because His resurrection put an end to every storm.
Added to the resurrection of all things bright and beautiful in your life is the assurance that the turning point will expand into an influx of joy, pleasure, abundance and grace all through the fourth month and beyond. This is espoused in Ezekiel 1:1 – 3, which reveal: “Now it came about in the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was by the river Chebar among the exiles, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.”
Furthermore, we should note that the symbolic angle for the fourth month has assurances of a change from misfortune to grace, and every storm turning round into peaceful days of God’s glory. In this regard, we should note that the number 4 derives its meaning from creation. Remember, on the fourth day of the creation week God completed the material universe.
On this day he brought into existence our sun, the moon, and all the stars (Genesis 1:14 – 19). Their purpose was not only to give off light, but also to divide the day from the night on earth, thus becoming a basic demarcation of time. They were also made to be a type of signal that would mark off the days, years and seasons.
Interestingly, the Hebrew word for ‘seasons’ in Genesis 1:14 is moed, which literally translated is “appointed times” (divine appointments) in reference to God’s festivals. Correlatively, you and I have entered into a month of grandiose happenings in our lives, for which we shall have cause to call well-wishers to celebrate with us and give glory to God. By His divine grace and majestic influence on our lives, God is set to create a new life for us all.
The resurrection of Jesus, therefore, assures us of new life in that is good, and an end to tumultuous days that bring choler, sorrow, weeping and gnashing of teeth. For every tough times you have gone through, all the hardship you have endured, the abstinence you have undertaken for a revival, and all supplications you have made for a change of fortune, God has heard you and is set to make it all happen in a new way this month.
That is what we understand from Zechariah 8:19   states: “Thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘The fast of the fourth, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth months will become joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah; so love truth and peace.”

Another point to note here is that April 1st being a Sunday reminds us of the role we have to play in the expectation of God’s blessings to come oiur way. It is not enough for us to seek His face and pray for His grace to keep coming our way. What steps are we taking in this regard? What actions are we showing that speaks louder than our voice? Are we treading the right path, while hoping God sees our heart?
Remember, the 4th of Ten Commandments handed down by God to Moses says we must keep the Sabbath day holy (Exodus 20:9 – 11). God made the period between Friday and Saturday sunset extra special, as He rested after the divine task of bringing everything into existence the previous six days (Genesis 2:1 – 3, Exodus 20:11). This indicates completeness, and a corresponding prophecy that starting April on God’s Holy Day has set you and I into fresh Grace.
Other symbolic references for the fourth month are: the four rivers of Paradise (Genesis 2:10); four winds of heaven (Ezekiel 37:9; Daniel 7:2; 8:8; 11:4; Zechariah 6:5); the four winds (Matthew 24:31; Mark 13:27); four corners of the earth (Isaiah 11:12; Revelation 7:1; 20:8); and four corners of the house (Job 1:19). Furthermore, the Garden of Eden had a river which parted into the headwaters of four other rivers (Genesis 2:10 – 14), and the spiritual witnesses of God on earth are four in number – miracles, wonders, signs and the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 2:4).
Our expectation of resurrection of all dryness in our lives this month is further concretised by noting that the number of times rainbows (i.e. rays of transformation) are referenced in scripture are four (Genesis 9, Ezekiel 1:28, as well as Revelation 4:3 and 10:1). There are also four gospel accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry, all about ‘The Good News.’
Lastly, the story of Lazarus gives a deep assurance that resurrection from all manner of death in your life (financial, academic, social, professional, medical, etc) is assured this month. “Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days.” John 11:17. “When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” (John 11:43). “And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.” (John 11:44).
By reason of the resurrection of Jesus, by reason of His Resurrection Power over death, I decree that all dry bones in your life receive breath. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, every storm raging in your life ends in this fourth month of 2018. You will enjoy a Great Calm, in the mighty name of Jesus. “Peace, Be Still (Matthew 8:23-27).”
