An explanation as to why the Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is seriously considering handing a recall to CSKA Moscow forward Aaron Samuel has been revealed to Owngoalnigeria.com.
Samuel is in line for a shock return to the Super Eagles as he is among the several names coach of the team Rohr has placed under watch ahead of the back to back World Cup 2018 Qualifiers back to back games against Cameroon in Uyo and Yaounde respectively.
Rohr views the 23 year old as a typical centre forward something the team currently lacks, and also his strength in duels particularly his giant frame will be of immense importance against a physically imposing Cameroonian team.
Brown Ideye’s situation at Chinese side Tianjin Teda also played a role in the manager’s decision to keep a close watch on Samuel, as Ideye has been relegated to the Reserve side of his Chinese team.
However his recall is yet to be officially sanctioned by the coach, but he has asked his scouts to monitor the performance of the forward, who ironically boosted his chances by scoring his first league goal for Russian side CSKA Moscow two days back when they defeated Tosno 2-1.
Formerly of Chinese side Guangzhou R&F, he last played for Nigeria in 2015 when the Eagles drew 1-1 against South Africa in a friendly game, prior to that game he has played in three other games and he found the back of the net against Sudan and Congo.
