Sokari Seeks Club In Europe For Eagles Return

CS Sfaxien of Tunisia midfielder, Kingsley ‘Bobby’ Sokari has admitted that he will have to find himself a club in Europe if he is to realise his ambition of playing for the Super Eagles.

The former Enyimba of Aba dazzler, who once appeared knocking on the door of a regular run with the Eagles, following his exploits with the Flying Eagles, U23 national team and home-based squad, acknowledged that national team selectors focus mostly on those in Europe.

He, however, went on to reveal that he could have taken his trade to Europe had Sfaxien been willing to allow him move, but says the Tunisian club have fixed a high transfer fee on his contract because they do not want to lose him.

Sokari further affirmed that Sfaxien will only sell him if they got a big money transfer offer for him, but they would rather keep him for their upcoming busy schedule.

Sfaxien will feature in four competitions this season, the Arab Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, Tunisian Cup and the north African country’s league, for all of which they consider Sokari a key player.

Sfaxien will face Tataouine on September 1 in the Tunisian league, following an opening day draw at home to Bizerte, and they are banking on more thrills from Sokari, who has a handful of caps with the Super Eagles and is angling on making a national team return.

Sokari said: “I think the focus of the coach is on players in Europe’s top flight leagues and those playing in Africa except for the goalkeepers are not being considered any longer.

“However, I believe that soon I will be back in the team and players in top African leagues will be considered.

“The club informed us that only a significant offer from an interested buyer would make them consider selling me as I am a key part of the team.

“We are involved in several competitions which means there are many games to be played.”
