Super Falcons Pound Gambia For Six

Super Falcons qualified for the African Women Championship in Ghana, by defeating Gambia 6-0 in the return leg of the final leg qualifier for the championship.

The game played at the Agege stadium, saw Desire Oparanozie hitting the net four times, while her teammate and reigning African Women Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala, pumped in the other two.

With the win the Nigerian lasses have now made it to the next AWC Championship in Ghana, to defend the championship the won at the last edition.

The Nigerian lasses were totally dominant in the encounter and deserve to have scored mores goals. But Skipper Rita Chikwelu, said it was a sweet win and the team which has not been together for a while will now get ready to defend their title in style. She said it was a motivating win for the Super Eagles opening game against Croatia on Saturday.
