Flying Eagles captain, Musa Mohammed will miss training with the team on Tuesday, as the dashing right-wing-back is suffering tooth ache and has to see the dentist.
According to the Nigerian team’s doctor, Ozi Salami, Mohammed will not be part of the squad’s first training session at their new base in Christchurch, but says he should be back on Wednesday, ahead of Thursday’s second round clash with European champions, Germany.
Dr Salami confirmed that Mohammed will miss the Tuesday evening drills in order to visit the dentist over a persisting tooth complaint, which forced him to play in pain during Sunday’s final Group E match against Hungary.
Mohammed has been solid on the right side of Nigeria’s defence, with a member of FIFA’s technical study group in New Zealand singling him, alongside two-goal hero, Taiwo Awoniyi, for a job well done in the 2-0 win over Hungary.
However, the skipper, who also led the Golden Eaglets to the FIFA U-17 World Cup title two years ago in United Arab Emirates, now has a race against time to be available for Thursday’s cracker with Germany.
