Tottenham Scout Monitors Gee-Lec Kids

Kids and officials of Gee-Lec Football Academy recently gained a treat when English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur sent one of their scouts to monitor their performances at a soccer tournament organized by renowned players’ representative, Babawo Mohammed.

The three-day competition in Abuja was closely monitored by highly respected scout, Simon Hunt, who was so impressed by what he saw that he gleefully recommended some of the outstanding youngsters to other English clubs.

The visit marked another step forward by the White Hart Lane outfit, who have Nigerian-born midfielder, Dele Alli and under-23 national team invitee, Nathan Oduwa among their rising stars of the current dispensation.

Spurs also initially had former Golden Eaglets revelation, Musa Yahaya on their cards before his move to Portugal, after he twinkled at the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup in United Arab Emirates.

An equally elated Babawo told allnigeriasoccer.com: “We just finished the tournament and they will send me the names of the players they are interested in when they return. Simon Hunt is one of the scouts that came to watch the players.”
