The stage is set, as twelve Nigeria football clubs are ready to perfect the upcoming 2017/2018 football season with the inaugural Ahlan Pre-season Tournament.
The participating teams are Kano Pillars, Plateau United, Enyimba, Akwa United, Nasarawa United, Niger Tornadoes, El-Kanemi Warriors, Katsina United, Wikki Tourist, Kwara United, Yobe Desert Stars and Kano Eleven.
The opening match will be contested between Kano Pillars and NPFL champions Plateau United from 4pm at the Sanni Abacha Stadium Kano.
Ahlan Cup 2017, which will last for nine days will kick off December 1st and end by 9th the same month in what is expected to be a grand finale.
Most teams have settled down well in Kano ahead of the Ahlan Cup 2017 with two time Africa champions Enyimba FC being the latest team touchdown the centre of commerce.
Tournament host, Kano State FA have put everything in place for a beautiful competition. Chairman Kano State FA Alhaji Rabiu Sharif Inuwa ‘Ahlan while receiving some of the teams, gave a soothing welcome message this evening in Kano, saying;
“The football loving people of Kano welcome everyone to Ahlan Cup 2017, let’s compete with the spirit of sportsmanship” The chairman concluded.
