13 African Games: Brume retains long jump crown, Ochononogor wins bronze

Eze Brume won gold in the women’s long jump at the African Games 2023 on Thursday night.

Brume retained her title with a 6.93m jump.

The Delta-State born athlete won with her first jump in the final.

Another Nigerian, Prestina Ochononogor won bronze with a jump of 6.67m.

It was the first time the relatively unknown Ochononogor will be representing Nigeria in a major competition.

The other Nigerian who contested in the event, Ruth Usoro missed out on the podium with her 6.62m jump.
