13 African Games medal ranking: Egypt maintain lead, Nigeria, South Africa, Algeria among top countries

Egypt is currently leading the medal ranking table of the ongoing All African Games in Ghana.

As of Thursday afternoon, Egypt were still leading the medal standings through their impressive performances across different events, notably table tennis, wrestling and swimming.

The North Africans maintain the number one position with a total of 167 medals (92 gold, 41 silver and 34 bronze) so far.

Behind Egypt is Nigeria, which is in second place with 90 medals (35 gold, 23 silver, and 32 bronze).

Behind Nigeria are South Africa with 97 medals (29 gold, 38 silver and 38 bronze), Algeria with 98 medals (23 gold, 33 silver and 42 bronze) and Tunisia with 66 medals (16 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze) are the countries that make up the top five.

The host nation Ghana are in sixth position on the medal standings with 49 medals (10 gold, 23 silver and 16 bronze).

Mauritius, Eritrea, Morocco and Ethiopia complete the top 10 in the list so far.

Others from 11-20 position on the list are Kenya, Madagascar, Niger, Cameroon, Senegal, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Benin, Libya and Namibia
