13th African Games: Flying Eagles bounce back with win over South Sudan

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria got their campaign back on track at the African Games 2023 courtesy of a hard-earned 1-0 win against South Sudan.

Sadiq Muhammed scored the winning goal from the spot 10 minutes from time.

South Sudan have now been eliminated from the competition after also losing 1-0 to Senegal in their first game.

The Flying Eagles moved to second position in Group B following the win.

The Hippos of Uganda, who defeated Senegal 1-0 in the other group game top standings with six points from two games.

Nigeria and Senegal will clash at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

A draw will be enough for the Flying to reach the semi-finals.
