The Lagos Masters Tournament concluded on a high note with over 10 players spotted for trials and potential contracts abroad. The clubs in attendance were highly impressed with the tournament’s organization and the level of talent on display.
The event, organized by Lagos-based football scout, Ikechukwu Jude provided a platform for young talents to showcase their abilities.
While speaking to SPORTSDAY after the successful event, Ikechukwu Jude expressed delight over the hitch-free completion of the tournament while also appreciating all the participating teams for honouring their invitation and also for being a good ambassador of their teams and Nigeria football at large.
He promised that the tournament will get bigger and better in the next edition as they would address all the noticeable shortfalls in this edition.
“I want to thank God for the successful completion of the tournament.
“The scouts were really impressed with the organization and the quality talents paraded.
“My sincere appreciation goes to all the teams that participated. My promise is that it can only get bigger and better in the coming years.
SPORTSDAY also caught up with one of the visiting scouts, David Escuin from SV Reid, Austria who stated that he was not shocked by what he saw.
According to him, Nigeria is a powerhouse in football not just in Africa but also in the world. The number of the county’s exports abroad, he said speaks volume.

“I think it’s been a wonderful three days here in Nigeria. The amount of talents are amazing but honestly I’m not surprised because anyone who follows football knows what Nigerians are capable of.
“I’m indeed very much impressed with the number of raw talents we’ve seen here so far, that would require very little polishing in Europe to blossom”, he said.
