The final of the third edition of the 1X Cup Community Championship will go down today at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, between Ikorodu City and the feeder side of Inspire Sports Academy Greater Tomorrow (ISAGT).
The competition, which is the biggest grassroots football tournament in the country, with well over 200 teams kick-starting the showpiece at the preliminary stage before reaching the group stage, and a whooping N20m prize money, promises a lot of spectacle both on and off the pitch.
Technical Director of the tournament, Engr. Waidi Akanni says they’re set and it’s going to be a tournament to remember.
“We’re fully ready for a memorable final. I can assure you that the people of Lagos will talk about this final for a long time to come.

“We’ve put everything in place, security, entertainment, music with many other side attractions to make the occasion grand.

“The quality of football has also been topnotch in this year’s edition which we are not expecting anything short in today’s final”, he said.
Meanwhile, the third place game will come up before the final and it’s between Nath Boys and Dosu Joseph FC.
The champion will pocket N10m while runner up will go home with N5m and N3m goes to the third place side amongst other prizes for Highest goal scorer, Most Valuable Player, Best goalkeeper, Best behaved team etc.
