..participating teams ready, talks tough
The pitch is at its highest decibels, and the pace, at the fastest. And going into the next 24 hours, football fans, enthusiats and stakeholders are salivating and earnestly, can’t wait enough for the real battle for the eye-popping N20m prize money to begin Monday, in Lagos.
The sponsors, 1XBET and foremost sports event managers, Match International Limited, have left nothing untouched, in line with its unwavering desires to deliver yet, another top class and unprecedented grassroots football championship.
The battle for the top diadem would see 20 teams who have gone through football forensic tests to be parts of the biggest grassroots football championship in Nigeria.
Divided into four groups of five teams each, the winners of each group qualifies automatically to the quarter-finals, while the second and third placed teams in each group, would battle in a playoff for the second spot and the ticket to the quater-finals.
Towards delivering a better and bigger championship, 1XBET, inconjunction with the organisers have set-up several committees, including individual prizes, at every match for outstanding players and coaches, throughout the championship.
In readiness, some of the teams have played a couple of pre-championship to keep them in top shape ahead of the group stage matches.

And yet, the coaches of several teams have been talking tough. In the words of the head coach of defending champions, SB LFC, Barrister Ayo Julius, “We’re ready and determined to defend our title. We’re poised to go all the way, with our unique brand of football, called ‘Ramba-Samba’,” he boasted gleefully.
Last year’s finalists Ighalo FC, have equally disclosed their readiness to go one better, by nicking the title and going home with the N20m grand prize.
Speaking on the championship, the project coordinator, Engr. Waidi Akanni, further assured that arrangements have been concluded to ensure a top class organisation, exciting, entertaining, peaceful and secured football championship.
