Rivers United of Port Harcourt coach, Stanley Eguma has disclosed that he has a total of 50 players currently seeking positions in the squad for next season in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), but says he will settle only for those who have extra qualities to flaunt.
Eguma added that he is happy with the opportunity of testing many of the players at the Gold Cup pre-season competition in Akure, and believes he would be able to come out with a solid team next week.
Eguma is not ready to pick just any player that turns up at his training or shows interest in joining the club, as he insists The Garden City outfit will recruit only best of the best.
Eguma stressed: “We have been preparing for some time, we are really knocking the team into shape, technical and otherwise.
“We have some new players in the team and we need to imbibe in them the philosophy that the management demand.”
