Fenerbahce of Turkey new arrival, Victor Moses has disclosed that he is already feeling different and excited at the Turkish Super Lig club, and says it is mostly because of the rapturous welcome he got from their fans.
Moses was enchanted by the atmosphere he saw in the stands during his debut at Ulker Stadium on Monday night, and says the supporters made his side’s 3-2 win over Yeni Malatyaspor.
The 28-year-old former Super Eagles winger, who is on loan in Istanbul from Chelsea of England for 18 months, went on for Yassine Benzia in the 66th minute to help his side record their first win in five games.
The win saw Fenerbahce move to 14th position with 20 points on the Lig log, and Moses praised the fans for their tremendous support during the encounter, which he confessed turned out better than he thought.
Moises is now looking up to an encore, as he hopes to get a starting shirt with The Yellow Submarine in their next home game against Goztepe on Friday at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, ahead of which he says Monday’s win was very important, as it put the team in the right frame of mind.
He added: “We are very happy. From the first moment of the match, you saw how willing and determined we were.
“I am very happy to be a player at this club. It was a great feeling coming on. The atmosphere was great and incredible. I can’t believe it.
“I have heard a lot about Fenerbahce fans, but it was really amazing to see them with my own eyes.
“They gave me confidence and motivated me and my teammates. When I started training I felt different. I want to play and enjoy my football.”
