Chelsea of England youngster, Jordan Aina has revealed that he was able to settle down very fast with the London club because of the presence of his older brother, Ola Aina, in the team.
Both brothers were key members of The Blues’ youth team, and Jordan has come out to reveal that he gained a lot of inspiration from his sibling.
Jordan and Ola were both England youth internationals, which put them in line for greater exposure with the club, and the younger of the two admits his surge through the ranks was propelled in knowing that someone was there watching over him.
The older Aina has since gone on to start at senior international level with Nigeria, almost getting to star for the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and is currently on loan from Chelsea to AS Torino of Italy.
Like Ola, Jordan also started out as a winger, before he was converted to play as a full-back by coaches in Chelsea academy, but the youngster says he is enjoying every minute of it, mostly he was encouraged to settle into the role by watching the examples of his older brother..
Though the former England under-16 player was at Chelsea for almost year before he finally got a contract at Stamford Bridge, the fast-rising defender recalled the role Ola Aina played through his early days and up till now.
Jordan recounted: ”I started playing football at a much younger age than Ola but he’s definitely helped the whole way and driven me to become better.
“It was easier for me to settle in because my brother had been here for a few years already so I’d been around Cobham a lot, coming in to watch him at training and games.”
