Etebo Missing Among Championship Top-50 Performers

Stoke City of England midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo will have to step up his personal efforts with the club, as he has not been listed among the current top-50 performers in the second-tier league.

Despite arriving in a glitter of previews just before the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Etebo is yet to make his mark with The Potters, even losing his spot in the starting squad at a point.

Latest statitics confirm Etebo’s struggles in England lower flight, as the ex-Warri Wolves of Delta State, Fareinse of Portugal and Las Palmas of Spain dazzler is not rated by pundits.

Such it is that the Super Eagles star, who had sterling outings at the FIFA World Cup against Croatia and Argentina is not in the rundown of 50 star performers of the present campaign in the English Championship.

Etebo’s name is conspicuously missing on the cards reeled out by Sky Sports, which placed Norwich City’s Mario Vrancic top of the English Championship power rankings.

While a single word is not given about Etebo at Stoke, Vrancic topped the Championship Power Rankings for the first time, ahead of Brentford’s Said Benrahma and Hull’s Jarrod Bowen.

The 29-year-old broke the deadlock and scored a second to seal a 3-1 win at Elland Road, with team-mate Teemu Pukki (No 9) also getting on the score-sheet – a result that saw the Canaries leapfrog Leeds at the top of the Championship table.

Brentford’s Ollie Watkins (No 4) scored twice and assisted substitute Sergi Canos, while Said Benrahma (No 2) also found the back of the net and teed up top scorer Neal Maupay to overturn a two-goal deficit and beat Blackburn 5-2 at Griffin Park.

Hull’s Jarrod Bowen (No 3) scored his 15th league goal this season in a 2-0 win against Etebo’s Stoke to maintain his remarkable run in the top 10 – rising into runner-up spot in the accumulative season chart.

Sheffield United’s Billy Sharp (No 5) was involved in David McGoldrick’s opener and doubled The Blades’ lead in a 2-0 win over struggling Bolton.

While Etebo is missing altogether, Aston Villa’s Nigerian-born striker, Tammy Abraham is among some top players who slipped in the olatest rankings, which reflect a player’s performance by awarding points for 34 different stats.

The minor slips in the chart include Swansea’s Oliver McBurnie (No 6), Preston’s Alan Browne (No 7), Birmingham’s Che Adams (No 8) and on loan striker from Chelsea, Abraham (No 10).
