New signing at FC Barcelona Famene of Spain, Asisat Oshoala has received a message of congratulations from some Lagos State school pupils, who rolled out a banner to show their delight with the star’s January transfer.
The pupils, who are enjoying part of the largesse currently being doled out by Oshoala’s charity foundation in Lagos, were happy to use the moment to felicitate with their noble benefactor.
They are all beneficiaries of the latest effort by Asisat Oshoala Foundation, which stepped up by earmarking a full week to donate sports and educational materials to Lagos schools.
Asisat Oshoala Foundation has also been impacting on the lives of female students in Lagos State with her annual secondary school football clinic, while their latest rounds of donation, which is in its fourth year, started on Wednesday and will run for a week across 50 schools.
The first set of schools to get the donations for 2019 were Epe Primary School, St Jude’s Primary School, Mushin, Aunt Ayo Primary School, Ikoyi, as well as Sango and Keke Primary Schools, Agege.
Oshoala’s latest round of charity efforts came few hours before news broke that she had sealed a Deadline Day deal at Barca’s female team, which sent bolts of excitement through all the benefitting students and their various schools’ officials.
The pupils took to social media to reveal their delight for Oshoala’s immense strides at club level, while also noting the value of the gifts they have received from her, and the three-time African Women Footballer of The Year replied with just two words: “My Kids.”
