Rangers Gained Confidence To Beat Sfaxien – Ogunbote

Rangers International of Enugu coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has declared that Sunday’s 2-0 spanking of Burkina Faso side, Salitas FC in the CAF Confederation Cup gave his side confidence to beat CS Sfaxien of Tunisia in their next continental game.

The veteran indigenous coach acknowledged that victory at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium put his side in a bright frame of mind for their second fixture against SC Sfaxien of Tunisia on February 13.

Although he admitted that playing away in Tunisia will be a huge task for his players, Ogunbote said he believes The Flying Antelopes’ confidence was boosted with their opening win on Sunday in the Coal City.

Ogunbote stressed that it was a morale booster for his team and a good leverage to hold unto when they travel to face Sfaxien in Tunisia for the second group game 24 hours before Valentine’s Day.

He added: “We worked for the victory and besides, the players played to instruction and I thank God our effort crowned at last.

“We now have the necessary confidence needed for our next match with Sfaxien in Tunisia.”
