Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi’s absence from action in the Turkish Super Lig, due to injury, has left room for one of his teammates, Abdulkadir Omur to enter the spotlight and gain massive attention from top scouts across Europe.
While Onazi battles to regain full fitness, with a hint that he could return to team training this weekend, the man who has stepped into his role in Trabzonspor’s midfield is wanted by Liverpool of England and Napoli of Italy.
Onazi and Omur hit off a cordial relationship early in the season, with both players often also enjoying spells together on the pitch, but the Super Eagles star will now have to play catch up when he eventually returns to action.
Such ios the scenario at present, as Omur is attracting interest from The Reds and Napoli, who both had their scouts watch the Turkey under-21 national team captain, leading to hints that he could hook a move in the summer transfer market.
Incidentally, Omur has been likened to Barcelona of Spain star, Philippe Coutinho, who was formerly with Liverpool, and the hint is that Onazi’s pal could move to Anfield as a direct replacement for the Brazilian ace.
It has further been suggested that Liverpool will move out Adam Lallana and snatch Omur as his successor, but Napoli are said to have gone with an offer direct to Trabzonspor about a price for the youngster.
