Nigerian soccer fans wishing to watch the female squad, Super Falcons battle hosts France at this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup had to pay €9 each, yet all the spots were sold out under a week.
Though some would think €9 is hefty for a match involving ladies, a rush ensued for the tickets late last week, and FIFA announced that tickets for the June 17 last Group A match in Rennes, France sold out very early.
For the upcoming encounter, Nigeria will hope to avenge an 8-0 defeat suffered against the Europeans in a friendly at Le Mans Stadium on April 6, 2018 when they lock horns again at the 29,000 capacity Roazhon Park.
FIFA stated further that tickets for the match have been allocated to fans around world 48 hours after sales window went live on Thursday.
Before slugging it out with France, Thomas Dennerby’s side will hope to have sealed a passage to the knock-out stage with maximum points from their first two group matches against Norway and South Korea.
Individual tickets for all Nigeria’s group matches cost €9 each, including opening two clashes with Norway in Reims on June 8 and South Korea in Grenoble four days later.
