Female national team, Super Falcons’ captain, Rita Chikwelu and striker, Desire Oparanozie have both stated delight in the privilege they had to model the squad’s new kit for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Chikwelu, who plies her trade in China flew into Paris to join Guingamp of France star, Oparanozie at the event, which also had Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) second vice-president, Shehu Dikko in attendance.
While Dikko, who is also chairman of Nigeria’s League Management Company (LMC), was in the French capital for marketing angles to the kit unveiling ceremony, Chikwelu and Oparanozie were the Falcons’ team representatives to don the new World Cup kit.
Also on the sidelines, to watch Chikwelu and Oparanozie in modeling the kits with promotional photos released by Nike, were fast-rising kid, Rasheedat Ajibade and Barcelona Femeni of Spain star, Asisat Oshoala.
The NFF disclosed that the Falcons and other Nigerian national teams will continue to use Nike kits until 2020, when the American company will unveil new material for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
